The presents are placed at the foot of the tree, the aroma of a holiday meal permeates through the home and time feels like it is standing still. The holiday season at the end of the year may seem quite unfavorable for extramarital relationships. Yet, according to the 8,000 members surveyed by site Gleeden<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/span>, that is not so. Let’s look at it more closely.<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

According to a study by the extramarital encounter site with 2.8 million members, 69% of the cheaters stay in touch with their lovers during the holiday season. The opposite may also be conceivable: alibis are hard to find, a more family-oriented state of mind, difficulty in finding the time to meet… so many criteria that make infidelity so complicated. But this doesn’t take into account the determination of some who cannot be bear to be away from their flame.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is difficult for lovers to break up during the holiday season <\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n


\nThe extramarital meeting site also inquired about the ways cheaters used to stay in touch at Christmas time. For most of them (41%), the distance was too difficult to manage; they used their imagination to find a valid excuse and to grant themselves a fleeting moment in the arms of their lover. A last minute Christmas errant, an emergency at work etc.; all alibis are fine.<\/span><\/p>\n

Others think that getting together with their lovers is too risky during the holiday season and risk security by choosing to use their phones and texting. 32% of them tap away to maintain their extramarital relationships.<\/span><\/p>\n

20% of members surveyed simply use the Gleeden mobile app to stay in touch with their lover while staying discreet.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lastly, others believe that pictures speak louder than words so they send each other sexy videos during the holiday season. 7% of them are into entering the mind of their lovers without even seeing them. And, yes, flirt 2.0 is on a roll!<\/span><\/p>\n

Cheaters spend more for their lover than their spouse <\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Few lovers exchange Christmas presents. Is the risk too high? Could it be guilt? In any case men are slightly more likely to give gentle attention to their lovers (46%). Conversely, only four out of ten women include their lover in their Christmas shopping list. On the other hand, in terms of budget, women are slightly more generous. In fact, 62% of women surveyed spend more on their lover than their spouse, as opposed to 58% of men. <\/span><\/p>\n

So what gifts do they buy for their lovers?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Last year, Gleeden had already taken a very close look at the cheaters’ Christmas, interviewing more than 7 000 members about the amount spent on their lovers and the most common gifts. The top 3 presents for women include lingerie sets, chocolate and a day at the spa for two. The most common gifts for men included sports accessories, a weekend abroad or a tie. It thus seems that lovers have trouble being apart during the holiday season. Many of them even take the time to give each other Christmas presents. Nevertheless, women seem to be more apt to this type of attentions. They are equally more likely to spend more when it comes to pleasing their lover. For those who drift apart a little during this time, they do so with the good intention of making things even better when they get back together!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
