Comfortably seated in front of your TV, you are about to watch the latest episode of your favorite series. Nothing but innocence in this situation, right? What if, instead, you were taking the first step toward infidelity? According to the latest study by Gleeden, the leading extramarital encounters website in Europe, conducted among more than 10,000 of its members, some TV shows were proven not to be as innocent as they seem and may well awaken your desires as well as upset the tranquility of your relationship. Which actors do married people fantasize about the most? And what series should be avoided in order to preserve fidelity in your relationship? Find all the details of this groundbreaking study!
Scandal, the series of all temptations?
Gleeden.com first asked its members to rank which series were able to awaken their desire to the point of feeling tempted by the experience of adultery. And it’s the salacious series Scandal that won first place in this ranking. The 35% of respondents admits being seduced by the adventures of Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) and her extramarital liaison with the President of the United States, no less. Just behind is the cult series Desperate Housewives that collects 27% of votes. On our screens for many years, the extramarital affair between Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria) and her sexy gardener has not aged a bit. In third place, we find the internationally successful series House of Cards, with 16% of votes. It follows Kevin Spacey, alias Francis Underwood, in his run for the US presidency amid corruption, low blows and scandalous adventures. At the fourth place of this ranking is The Affair, a series whose central theme is none other than … adultery! Enough to give ideas to 11% of members surveyed. Finally, the fifth and last place went to the series Arrow, whose super sexy lead actor seduced our women to the point of craving for taking a bite of the forbidden fruit! The series collected 6% of votes.
An actor for one night, my partner for life
Gleeden.com decided to go further in its investigation and interviewed its members in order to understand if these TV shows really influenced their married life. The site first asked members if they had ever fantasized about their favorite actor or actress, and the results are clear: amongst more than 10,000 members interviewed, 61% of men and 64% of women report having already fantasized about their favorite character. 38% of men and 42% of women also admit to have already thought about them during sex with their partner. To cap it all, 17% of men and 14% of women even said they reached orgasm more easily by imagining the sexy body of their favorite star.
They say yes to a night in the arms of their favorite hero/heroine
Gleeden.com then asked the fateful question to its members: would they be willing to cheat on their official partner if they had the chance of spending a night in the arms of their favorite actor or actress? Of course, more than 8 out of 10 men answered that yes, they would step over the fence of fidelity to have a carnal interlude with their favorite actress (82%). And women are no less so: the 76% admitted that they too would crack if the opportunity arose.
Simon Baker, the favorite of married women
Finally, the extramarital encounter site asked members to rank their favorite series actors. And, it’s Simon Baker, the handsome blonde with blue eyes from the series The Mentalist who topped the women’s rankings with 31% of votes. Followed by Jim Caviezel, main character of Person of Interest, with 24% of votes. At the third place, we find Patrick Dempsey who plays the sexy Dr. Derek Shepherd in the famous series Grey’s Anatomy, favored by 19% of female respondents. Stephen Amell, the seductive archer in the series Arrow came in fourth with 12% of votes. Lastly, it is a dark handsome who picks up fifth place in the survey: Kit Harrington, one of the main characters in Game of Thrones who charmed 10% of respondents.
Olivia Wilde, the fantasy of men in couples
The men were also asked about their favorites, and it’s Olivia Wilde, actress in the series Dr. House, who topped the ranking with 33% of votes. Just behind, we rightly find Kerry Washington, the main actress in the series Scandal, who 22% of men surveyed fantasized about. Lauren Cohan, from The Walking Dead collected the preferences of 19% of men and takes the third place, while Kaley Cuoco, Penny from The Big Band Theory, won the fourth place in this ranking. Her freshness and naturalness seem to seduce men because 15% of them picked her. Finally, Cobie Smulders, the key character in the series How I Met Your Mother came in fifth with the votes of 9% of men surveyed.
